Universal Bank Cornèr Banca SA Relies on Nevis for Modern and Secure Identity Management

Initial Situation

Like many expanding and customer-centered companies, Cornèr Bank had built up a heterogeneous CIAM environment with various ‘identity silos’ over the past few years. These silos were a major obstacle to the development of Cornèr Bank’s ambitious digitalisation strategy. As part of the ONE Platform initiative to modernise the CIAM platform, the silos were to be broken down and transformed into a future-proof solution. In this context, the bank opted for the Nevis Identity Suite, a powerful on-premises solution for secure and convenient identity and access management.

Solution

Cornèr Bank is one of the pioneering customers of Nevis Mobile Authentication. The universal bank and Nevis have been working together since 2017. More than 50 applications have been integrated at the banking group, half of which are ‘identity aware’. Over 800,000 active users utilise the Nevis tools and there are almost 60,000 authentication events per day with a peak of 4,000 authentications per hour.

Nevis’ Identity Suite is an on-premises solution for secure and convenient identity and access management for customers (CIAM) that has been tried and tested for over two decades – integrating seamlessly into homogeneous IT environments such as those at Cornèr. The key functions of the Identity Suite include passwordless authentication, identity orchestration, multi-factor authentication, passkeys (FIDO 2), single sign-on, identity management, DevOps support and web/API access. These features ensure a seamless and secure user experience while increasing operational efficiencies through modern DevOps principles. With its comprehensive security measures and flexible architecture extensibility, the Identity Suite is an important part of Nevis’ comprehensive security solutions, which are used to secure 80 percent of all financial transactions in the Swiss financial system and 60 million electronic patient records in Germany.

The implementation of the Nevis Identity Suite at Cornèr Banca SA was supported by the Swiss software company Adnovum.
